The local New Mexico Philharmonic performed tonight and I was in the chorus that they accompanied. Halfway through the first half of the program, a woman in the middle of the auditorium pulled out her cell phone (or tablet) and kept it on for about four songs.
Don't know if she was texting, surfing, or trying to film us. NO idea why her neighbors around her didn't set her hair on fire. If looks could kill, I would have already slain her.
As soon as we broke for the intermission I went down and found her and told her how distracting her cell was from the stage. She was about 70 and said nothing, but her party had an older lady on a cane about 80, and she burst out, "it wasn't ME!!!" LOL. ;) I wonder if the perpetrator was her sister or daughter (not sure of ages.)
What on earth makes a person like that attend a classical concert? Anyone can step away if something is urgent. There is never a terrorist around when you need one.
