A notable (solar) landmark

Probably most people know by now that there's going to be a total eclipse of the sun late this coming summer, observable from the U.S. and much of Europe. Many are likely planning eclipse parties -- enough so in fact that campgrounds across the country are already booked solid for the day of the event, August 21.

Something that makes this eclipse a first of its kind is the U.S. power grid: much of the country now relies sufficiently on solar power that utilities are already working on how to manage the crop in solar production due to the brief loss of sunshine! That itself is worth celebrating, if you haven't already planned a party.
