Using websites in a language you're only vaguely familiar with to buy things...

Have you ever found stuff you wanna buy online but deterred because the language of the site is not in your native tongue, and you can't really speak or converse in the language shown to any great extent?

I learned german at school but haven't used it in the intervening quarter of a century, but have signed up to a german website that sold something I wanted, ... with the help of google translate... Similarly, I signed up with Amazon.jpn because I know a smattering of japanese and wanted something from there.

Both times, I got my packages within a few days of ordering, so I've been really pleased. I bought two Japanese books that were priced with import tax, which I paid, but in the UK there is no tax on books. About a month afterwards, I recieved a refund in my bank account for the tax taken without me having to raise the issue, so although I was apprehensive at first, I would definitely buy from there again without a doubt.

Are you comfortable signing up to a foreign language website, if there was something you wanted but couldn't get elsewhere?
