About 3 weeks ago I bought some paint and supplies at a big box store, it came to about $30.00.
When I went to pay the computers went down right after my debit card was swiped. The clerk then wrote up the sale on a ticket, using my card number.
The next day I checked and found that my account had 2 sales pending at this store, I waited another day and nothing had changed, I called the store and they told me to come in for a refund.
A week later, my account was ahead by the amount of the sale and I could only find one sale at this store.
So, the next time I went in the direction of that store I stopped and showed them the receipt
and explained that I owed them the $30. and change.
The woman at the customer service desk acted shocked, like she couldn't believe that I was doing this.
I mentioned this to a few people that I know, I was told by them that a company that large wouldn't miss $30.
I am surprised that anyone would think that it was fine to keep the money.
Have any of you ever been in this position?
