I have been a Bernie supporter since the beginning and a volunteer early on. As a working class person I had little interest in this election before he announced. Afterward I had a renewed faith in the democratic process. Without him it is merely a choice between the least disagreeable neolib. He is the only candidate capable of creating a lasting coalition for real change. Hilary will be much like former "progressive" candidates and move to the right during the general election if she wins the primary and will try to do it all by herself, but she won't win. Bernie time and again emphasizes that this movement is not about him but about a lasting movement of the people. He is dependent on us for success. I am confident he will win for a few reasons. Firstly I believe the polls cited in the media to be ultimately flawed. They primarily rely on land line telephones. How many people do you know with a land line? They are also based on likely voters, and many Bernie supporters would not be likely voters without him. Just look at the demographic percentages in the next poll and see what percent of those polled are in the 18 to 35 range. Bernie also has a much stronger activist base. Look at any internet comment section about the candidates and see who has the most support. Not to mention his record breaking number of individual small donor donations. And it is those people who commit these small but meaningful acts I am trying to target today. If you are a Bernie supporter, one who defends him on message boards like this, please if you haven't already, take the time you have available to volunteer. Find local events at map.berniesanders.com, phone bank in your free time, find and coordinate with other local volunteers. Bernie has been fighting this fight for 50 years, you can likely afford to take a few hours out of your day to join him. He will win and have success because of us.
