Does Your Cat Lick Your Face… ?

…And Why?

A couple of years ago, my tomcat did that, once in a while. As far as I remember, he usually licked my face when I had a feverish cold.

I guess I always woke up and I must say I enjoyed it; and before my forehead or my eyelids got peeled, I simply put him to another place :)

But since recently, my tomcat licks my face night by night.

And I have no feverish cold, as far as I know.

Any ideas what this could mean?
