I personally think pets are a huge part of our lives (for those of us who love our pets).
I currently have 2 beagles and 5 tarantulas.
Here is one of my dogs. He is 13 but still acts like a puppy.

Here is me holding my oldest tarantula. He is almost 2 years old. He's still got a lot of growing to do. He'll get about twice as big as he is in this picture.

Here is a close up of the same tarantula so you can see him better.

Here is my youngest tarantula. He is about 8 months old. In this picture, he is actually molting. All inverts have to molt to grow bigger. This little fella will grow up to be bigger than my hand. His body alone will probably be able to cover the palm of my hand. I can't wait for him to grow up to full size.

These tarantulas are, amazingly enough, not aggressive at all. Sure, you put something smaller than them in the cage, like a mouse, and watch them hunt. They are incredibly fast when they hunt. And I mean lightning fast. But for some reason, they are very gentle when people pick them up.
They each have 2 long fangs, which means they have the potential to bite. But again, these guys have never shown any aggression toward me. I handle them regularly and let them crawl around at times.
That's it for now.
