A recent poll shows Sanders now ahead of Clinton in the first caucus state of Iowa 41% to 40%.

Sanders leads Clinton in New Hampshire by 9% and the Clinton campaign is already starting to focus on more favorable states to prop up Hillary's campaign.
I am willing to bet that Sanders will defeat Hillary for the nomination, its not a sure thing but the chances are growing stronger that it will happen. There is grassroots support for Bernie, there is much more excitement on Bernie's side and his campaign is already taking shape the same way as Obama's did.
This process is looking a lot like 2007 and will probably cause Joe Biden to not run - as challenging an insurgent candidate is a lot harder than being a regular democrat other than Hillary.
Hillary's opponents just have too many advantages over her such as opposition to the Iraq war and fewer corporate ties. Corporate ties and the image of an insider is not playing at all well nationally and Bernie has been strong against TPP
